Riverrock Stella awarded a Gold Medal Rheinland Foal

Updated: Jun 21, 2022

We’re super proud of homebred Riverrock Stella who was last week awarded a Gold Medal Rheinland Foal and rated equal top filly amongst the German inspections by the New Zealand Hanoverian Society.

Receiving a top score of straight 8’s across the board, the judges were impressed Stella’s conformation and movement.

Stella is out of Riverrock Felene (Sinderella FE x Fugato) and by Triple World Champion, Danish Warmblood, Sezuan.

“I have wanted to breed from Sezuan for quite some time as he has produced so many top horses and I felt he had the right mechanics and would help refine my mare line. I am really pleased with the result and although I didn’t feel Stella was her best on filming day it was nice to see the assessors see the quality in her.

At this stage, the plan is to retain Riverrock Stella to come through behind her mum as my dressage horse and eventually join our broodmare band." Aliesha says.

"We love breeding and producing high-quality stock and put a lot of time and effort into trying to get it right, so to have these horses recognised on an international level is super rewarding. Breeding top dressage horses is certainly no money-maker here in NZ but I’m really enjoying the process of trying to better what I produced the year before. It definitely helps knowing your mares so well, having ridden them, you really get to know their strengths and weaknesses which I think helps when deciding on a stallion. This year we are looking forward to welcoming two foals out of Sinderella FE by Glamourdale and Kjento. This is the first time we have gone away from the successful S/F line cross with Sinderella so we are eagerly waiting to see these foals on the ground” explains Aliesha.
